Can you soft-reset for a shiny legendary in USUM?

Some people say you can AFTER entering a wormhole, but others say otherwise since the further you go, the higher the chance of a shiny.

Shininess for normal Pokemon is determined when you enter the hole. Legends/UB's are determinned at the start of the fight.

When you enter the hole for a normal Pokemon, it's shininess is determined there. If it's a UB/legendary, you can save it front of it and reset as normal.

It'll get it's hidden ability, if GF implement the same mechanics for importing Gen I pokémon to bank for Gen II.

Yea but you can control nature using synchronize. I assume if you are going to go through the trouble to soft reset for a legendary you'd bring a kadabra or something.

I wasn't aware you could save before non-UB legendaries. I assumed you'd have to battle them like the normal pokemon. Or kind of like the creation/genie trio where you can only save further away.
