Alder is one of the only champions that feel like they're actually involved in the world instead of just being "the strongest trainer". It's nice that he goes around helping and actually influencing the world with the title he has.

Why people praise gen 3's ost is beyond me. It has a few good tunes, terrible soundfont not withstanding. heck the gba style ruins even blue's theme; the original gb theme is leagues better

Nostalgia is deafening you. Steven's theme isn't the best but LG/FR Blue is such a good remake of his original theme it's not even funny. Most intense ost in the series by far.

Alder's not that forgettable, in my opinion. He's introduced early, is tied into Marshal's past and Cheren's development, and jonis you throughout your journey. In BW2, he appears right before the first Gym and mentors you, and you meet his grandson.

At least he was better than Steven "press Surf to win" Stone. His team was an actual challenge. Alder probably earned his position through his own merit unlike daddy's fuck boy who either paid or slept his way up to the top.

Shame he doesn't get much spotlight, he's one of the best champions but has his spot stolen in the main game and is replaced in bw2
His theme also wasn't the best, especially after coming from gen4's masterful champion themes
