>huge expansive dex with many options available early on even, Gen 6 also wasn't ashamed of its of generation of Pokémon and actually featured them and didn't lock them away behind 1% encounter ratesThis is the thing I can't dispute whenever it comes to XY, but its really fucking hard to care for a good roster when actually playing through the region is as unappealing as it gets. But fair enough, opinions.
>improvements to player connectivity (famously the PSS and Wonder Trade) made Gen 6 the most interactive experience in Pokémon since the PokéWalkers of HGSS, whereas SM dropped the ball on their reimplementationI don't care for online battles, but Friend Safari was a fun feature. Still, I just don't agree with GameFreak's mentality that a variety of online/multiplayer options means it's okay to make your main campaign shallow and boring.
>XY lacked post-game but still had a lot to explore and do, SM lacked actual exploration, so does USUMNot seeing that one. SM railroaded you quite a bit, too much even, but I still felt like I can explore every route I visited, whereas XY's felt like straight lines most of the time. The absolute lack of any post game makes this even worse. SM is definitely better in that regard, although not by much. USUM on the other hand clowns on both.
>The gameplay/cutscene ratio was incredible compared to SMThat's debatable. I shudder at the thought of how predictably frequent you get video calls that are absolutely uninteresting to watch or to read.
Opinion obviously but Sun and Moon having an at least decent story over the nothing that was XY also makes that pill better to swallow
