I wouldnt if i were you.

If first game will be released in 2018 then obviously 2019 or 2020 will be DP remake. And then 2021 is the 25th annivesary of Pokemon so i imagine gen 9 will happen in 2021 no matter what

That means gen 8 will have only 2 sets of games again and one of them is pretty much guaranteed to be a remake

I'm just going to wait until all the reviews are in. if the switch game is of high quality as they better fucking be then I'll buy in. if not, I won't. Either way, with online being something you have to pay for now I really don't see much of a reason to bother in the first place.

Literally happened to me

I have bought every third version at their release time (And the previous version)

out of the dissapointment of my pearl and ruby versions becoming obsolete, I decided to skip xy in hopes of z, it never happened, and I ended up never playing 6th gen besides showdown.

then S/M ultra happened and gamefreak played me like a FIDDLE.
