Its a third version. The story is pretty much the same with a few different characters and pokemon here and there. But the last half of the game is brand new and awesome. The postgame is awesome too.

Flat out lie. The main-game is near identical up to the climax where the box legendary is summoned, which gets replaced by the Necrozma shit. You do a new trial after that where you rematch some captains, all of which amounts to ~30-40 minutes of new content after the previous 15 hours were the same as SM.
