fwiw dumbass, I'd probably consider it best gen too. I + II were I + II, III nearly tanked the franchise, IV was alright, Sinnoh was good, Platinum is my fav game, HG/SS drag it down overall though (not fixing the main problems of G/S, seems to be a theme with remakes really), VI was worse than IV and VII jury's still out as I haven't played it yet (I suspect it'll be somewhere around IV tier). Leaving Gen V out on it's own overall, with whatever problems the games had individually not being enough to pull down the overall score.
