Yeah, by comparison, XY don't seem too bad, specially considering that they were the first 3D games.

XY were absolutely not good games. They were fine from gameplay perspective, but only because fucking up a turn based system that had been in place for close to 20 years was literally impossible. All of the content holding up that combat system was trash.

I'm shocked how the Zelda cycle found its way into Pokémon now. XY are the absolute low point of the series, closely followed by DP, but at least that gen got its bandaid in the form of Platinum.
