It has actual soul and emotion, whereas the same leitmotif used is the solgaleo/lunala theme is lifeless and an awfully arranged jumbled mess. Take for example where the main melody abruptly starts over top of the intro.

Based. I never played with headphones until SM and holy shit it makes such a huge difference. It changed my opinion on a lot of themes and changed my top list greatly. I feel like everyone should if they don't already.

That being said, the USUM trailer theme sounded empty as shit until I listened with headphones. It's easily one of my favorite themes in all the games now.

You're wrong. Contextually (but supposedly, since I'm yet to play US) both of the Necrozma themes fit for the situations they're played in.

As for the compositions, I think they're both good. The one OP posted is for Ultra Necrozma, apparently. There was a mix up when they were uploaded by various users.

The point of the post was to highlight that literally anyone can compose better than masuda by comparing the leitmotif used in solgaleo/lunala and the same in necrozmas theme, and how other composers do a much better job at utilising it.

I liked gen 4's soundtrack, but if you wanted to know why the change in style, I believe it is stated in an interview somewhere that Masuda asked the composers working on the game to "write songs that don't typically sound like they'd come from a pokemon game" or something along those lines.
