I caught myself thinking "wow this is literally SM again must i really replay the whole story until i get to the new ending? What a fucking drag" but now thinking about it, it was the same for Emerald and Platinum.
Don't know why it didnt bother me back then, maybe because i was much younger and we didn't have yearly releases. The Pokemon fatigue is real, and also the new games are way too dialogue heavy which makes replaying them (also counting playing USUM for the first time) really annoying.
I dont think third versions still work like they did years ago, gamefreak should just get rid of them and only release definite versions.
But one thing USUM did right: introduced version exclusives cover legend(s) but also made the final form the endboss in both versions. This is how it should always be from now on.
I wonder why they didnt use Emeralds plot for ORAS (with the primals fighting and Mega Fug stopping them). After Fug stops them, one disappears and the other one stays behind, depending on your version, and you catch it. Really weird they didnt pull this off.
Would be cool of they do it in the DP remakes tho. Give us the Platinum storyline but only let us catch the version exclusive cover legendary + Giratina.
