I like Alolan Persian more than Kantonian Persian, too... also used in a playthrough. The impression I get is that it was a lazy way to make him fluffy. At least, that's how I see it - and I've grown to love the cat.
Mudkip line. Unpopular, but I was never very fond of 3rd gen, and didn't really like it. They grew on me a lot.
Zubat line, trubbish line, vanillish line.
Playing with varied teams made me like a lot of these.
