To start the games feel like a failed reboot of gen 1-2. Most of the designs are reminiscent of various gen 1 pokemon, only more cartoony. The game is fairly difficult, ill give it that, but the lack of variety and depth of teams made it feel very repetitive. The box legendaries look like something you might see in final fantasy, a lot of the pokemon in the dex just felt like filler. The story was ok, but it feels like what gamefreak would do if they were asked to make a “dark” story(ex. Ghetsis trying to kill the player with kyurem, ghetsis calling N a freak, hints at child abuse).
