I just beat Surge, Diglette took out his Voltorb and Pikachu on the first two turns, but sadly his Raichu hit her with a critical quick attack and killed her, Solsilv barely beat Raichu after that.

Challenge has begun. Breezed through Will without taking damage, though parahax on the Slowbro with Amnesia certainly helped matters. KerBOOMby kicked so much ass in that fight that he got to 43. Can't imagine Koga will give much trouble, so my next update may come later than sooner, after the other members.

Wew. Managed to beat Koga with no problem like I thought. When I was fighting Bruno, I used Licklurker to fight Hitmonlee because I wanted to keep Monumentum healthy for Machamp. I figured with the Choice Specs and Fighting immunity, he would've been fine. I was almost right, as both Licklurker and Hitmonlee managed to deal over half of each other's health in damage with Sludge Bomb and Blaze Kick. What I didn't realize was that the pair was speed tied, so Hitmonlee managed to get the killing blow with Blaze Kick. While Bruno was healing, Monumentum one shot Hitmonlee with Zen Headbutt. As for Stallnut, I used her to wall Karen's Gengar and kill it with Payback. But then she whipped out Destiny Bond as I went for the killing blow. Yeah...
At least I didn't use Ragnacroc to Crunch it, huh? I'll challenge Lance when I work up the nerve. Pretty nervous right now.

Challenge complete. KerBOOMby handled the Gyarados as expected, and I used Monumentum to tank the level 50 Dragonite, who died to a combination of Outrage confusion and Blizzard attacks. He sent in the Thunder Dragonite next, but luckily I managed to have Monumentum at full health for it, and I had the Wacan Berry equipped, allowing Monumentum to get in a Blizzard before I unfortunately had to let her die. KerBOOMby got the revenge kill with Charge Beam. From that point, I was able to set up to +4 speed with Agility and swept the rest of his team with Ragnacroc. Goodbye my fallen Pokémon, and thank you for your sacrifices. This run is brought to a close, for now at least.

Hey guys today i have a set of 10 roms of Pokemon Platinum Version for you all!

These are randomized versions with a lot of stuff changed. Here are what they are:

Wild, Static, Gifted, and Traded Pokemon are randomized!

Trainer Pokemon are randomized with the the difficulty of their levels being increased by 20% >(or 1.2x the current levels of Pokemon before randomizing)

Items on the ground are randomized, have fun finding that Master Ball!

TMs are randomized. But don't get too excited about that. Why? Well that's because;

Moves have been randomized! Their Power and Accuracy have been changed so you could get say, a Pure Power Slaking with a 115BP move of say, Scratch! Trust me all this and more is possible.

And you are probably saying

Well it could be because Abilities are randomized as well!

These Pokemon Platinum roms will be really fun to Nuzlocke, trust me. I played #4 myself and made it through no problem! (there were problems, does 35 deaths seem good to you!?!?)

After all you all want a difficult Nuzlocke run right?

But before that, I want to say that I caught all 6 of my encounters before facing the Gym:
Luvdisc, Finneon, Tentacool, Krabby, Wingull, and Sableye.

I decided to put Sableye on the squad to face Brawley. Loot, the Sableye, rekt shop. He plowed through the trainers and most of Brawley's team. His last mon, Hariyama, was sent out. I decided to switch to Sableye to evade all his Fighting-moves.

This is where my heart broke.
Hariyama used Belly Drum on my switch in. I used Fake Out for free damage. I wasn't sure if I was faster (I was 3 levels higher) or if Hariyama had anything other than Fighting/Normal type moves, so I risked using Night Shade.
I WAS faster. But unfortunately, Loot could only bring it down into the red (it had to be like 3 HP left). Then Hariyama used Knock-Off. Switched into Mulberry and killed it.

RIP Loot the Sableye. I was really loving that little bugger, since I've NEVER used one before.

After that, I grinded up a tad bit and ran into and caught a shiny Dwebble (on a route I've already caught a mon). What are your rules on this?

This is why trainers that can steamroll the Elite 4 shouldn't be allowed to be Gym Leaders.
They can't adjust their teams for new trainers like they are supposed to, their minds automatically cook up destruction.

Come to think of it, all Normal type leader battles are crap. Whitney, Norman, Lenora, Cheren...I wouldn't mind if it was made a rule to ban Normal type bosses, at least in the early game.

Eh, most of them at least offer really solid counters for their main mons when you don't have a Nuzlocke rule in place.
Whitney gets stonewalled by either Geodude or Onix, even with Attract BS. Female Geodude laughs in her face. You also get the trade Machop that can't be attracted but it's less reliable.
Norman is late enough that you should have at least something that can handle him well.
Lenora is stuck in a town with both Timburr and Sawk/Throh. Between both of those she's not a serious threat.
Cheren on the other hand... even if you are hand-picking effective mons he can still crush you.

So I pretty casually took out my rival, That's Right was almost taken out by his Growlithe, the dumb son of a bitch roared, then Gloomo mega kicked him into oblivion. Afterwards Gloomo was hit with a kinesis, hit the mega kick, was hit with kinesis again, then hit mega kick again.

Evolve Rhyhorn and put that on the team. His typing and high Defense is great against two of Lance's Dragonite (beware the third one with Blizzard). If you're too scare of Fighting types, add Doduo or Golbat over Lickitung. If you're dead set on Lickitung, I'd prioritize a Flying type. Your Fightning weakness is nasty.

Well, that could have gone better, but at least I didn't lose pretty much everyone. Using the Finneon I caught to replace Brionne while I try to find someone more permanent (finneon isn't very good). Butterfree's always cool to have though.

Started my Pokemon Gold Nuzlocke yesterday after beating Red Version - best way I thought of keeping a continuity was trading my survivors to Silver on my spare 3DS, breeding them, trading the eggs to Gold on my main, and going from there. The rule is I can only have one survivor on my team at a time. This already feels so much easier than Red Version, though, that level distibution is poor as fuck.

The fight with Koga looked like it was going well, Generic was pretty casually taking out everything ... then Weezing happened. Generic missed the sleep powder and was hit with toxic, she hit the second one but Koga used a full heal immediately afterwards, not long after Generic fell to the might of Weezing. Then I sent in Lanius and used fly multiple times, but Weezing got a critical hit with sludge and wiped my bird off the map. Finally I sent That's Right in and he gave the big dumb tumor a taste of it's own medicine and took it out with a critical pay day. Now to pick who can take the place of those legends.

Gladion's Golbat almost killed Araquanid and his Zoroark nearly killed off my Bewear. Type: Null was easy enough.

Faba was an easy sweep with Araquanid, comfy battles with shitty Hau losing almost all of his pokemon.
Guzma was easy enough for Sparky to take down, he has multiple pokemon weak to Electric type.

You might think that it'd be tough like Koga, but no. It was over in a flash, C U R S E used strength on her first two mons, then I switched into Gloomo for venomoth because he probably needed experience, then after one shotting venomoth I switched back into C U R S E, alakazam attempted future sight, but I ended it with a hyper beam.

Finished grass trial. And had two team members die in pretty close succession. One to a X-Attack'd Amaura and another to a Sudowoodo spamming Wood Hammer.

Got started. There are a lot of bug types with bug bite in the first couple of paths that tear apart Hork Bajir. I've always wanted to use a Beedrill as my main mon, so here we go. Bright side? Hork tore apart the gym. I've never played with Fairy types (Most of my experience ends at 4th gen), so this is going to be new. I'm excited.

Butterfree took down Lurantis, it took a while because of Synthesis, but still, another trial down! I was a bit scared that the Totem would summon Kecleon, but I'm glad it sent out the relatively harmless Comfey. Diglett evolved, and Inkay is really close to evolving. Not too scared of Olvia, but Hau is definitely a bit terrifying right now.

This was my team at the end of the game. Papa John, the OG depu-tee, died at the hands of Hala. Umbro died to Acerola. Ziggy was the last of the old guard remaining, while Billy became the unexpected MVP. Mort was absolutely useless, weak as shit even when I leveled him up, didn't deserve HoF. Sam was cool.
Gotta say, for all the shit /v/ gives SM, this nuzlocke was the most fun I've had playing Pokémon since Soulsilver, my first one. It was the most fun I've had playing a game in a while, period. With XY, the fun faded quickly after the game ended and I realized how retarded it was. I still look fondly at Moon a half year after I finished it. The return of half competent writing was a huge part in it, finally we had a rival that was somewhat close to the dickhead rivals of old. I do think Gladion's team is a bit too derivative of Silver's team though. I don't know how else to put it other than; never play this game the normal way.

So, the first 3 E4s went amazing.
Maggie and Fistoad absolutely bodied Molayne's team in a fury of fire and fists.
Filia gave Olivia the business, with some support from Owliver. Gigalith almost killed Owliver, but Fistoad jumped in at the last second and Brick Break'd it to oblivion.
Morrigan eat Acerola's ass up.
Kahili's fight went fine, with Filia tanking all kinds of Brave Birds from Mandibuzz and Braviary, withdrawing when Toucannon touched the field. Dankula took her place.... That's when she pressed Z-Move and bodied our suave bat. At least now he can join Lulu on the other side; I'm sure he's happy to finally see her again...
Now, we march forth for the throne of the Champion.

I think the game is so much better when people actually give character and backstories/development to their mons; it just makes everything more fun. Ultra Moon was plenty fun, but I wasn't super exploring it like I did with Sun. There's also postgame to get to, so the ride's not quite over yet.

As for a blind run, go for it. Blind runs have the nice sense of surprise at every turn, which makes things that much more exciting.

For me personally I would do a normal run first then nuzlocke it afterwards. But if you wanna go in first then go ahead.

Starters don't count as encounters to me so get the starter and then whatever you find on route 1 will be your encounter.

I want to do a blind nuzlocke with only one exception: I don't really like Alolan starters so I was gonna transfer a level 1 mon from my Sun cartridge.

This happened to me in my second Sun Nuzlocke.

Also I got Grimer in the Trainer's School... but it has a Special Defense decreasing nature. Like every single one of my Pokemon. But at least it's a good encounter and it's not Rash like the rest.

Guzma nearly killed me; Masquerain wasn't a joke. Put Zorua back on the team after a long hiatus, and put Masquerain on the team to replace my Butterfree. Mimikyu was taken out, and took Dugtrio and Masquerain out with it. Dugtrio would have lived had Mimikyu not called Jellicent. Zubat died to Plumeria's Salazzle because I completely forgot about it and needed a free switch-in to Lumineon to Hydro Vortex it. In front of Po Town. I'm close to where I wiped last time - hopefully that won't happen again.

Rules I'm playing with:
1. Only the first Pokemon in a route can be caught. If that capture is failed, no other Pokemon can be captured.
1a (Duplicate Clause). You are given two attempts to find a Pokemon that you have not previously encountered. If on the third attempt you still have not found a new Pokemon, you must capture the third encounter.
1c (Safari Zone clause). Each zone of the Safari Zone counts as a new area. However, in that area only, you are allowed instance of the duplicate clause OR one runaway.
1d. In game trades do not count as an encounter, since it is a 1 for 1 exchange, and no net gain is made.
2. If a Pokemon faints, that Pokemon is considered dead, and must be released.
3. All Pokemon must be nicknamed.
4. Legendaries cannot be used.
5. Repels are banned from use.
6. Limited to one use of a health item (Potion and one use of a status item (Full Heal) per battle. Full Restore counts as a use of both. No limit on out of battle healing.
