I still occasionally think Whiscash is a gen 4 Pokemon. It just makes a lot more sense that way.

How is this a common mistake? Fishermen use Barboach fucking everywhere in gen 3. Whishcash is used by Wallace and Juan. How underage are you?

Sometimes I forget that Ghost-type attacks can hit Fighting-types because of Ghost’s immunity to Fighting- and Normal-type attacks and Normal’s immunity to Ghost-type attacks.

What gets me is that ghosts are immune to fighting and normal, but not flying attacks like aerial ace or wing attack. What's the logic in that?

Mistaking it as a 4th gen pokemon is a little weird, but I could see OP forgetting it.
Barboach is hella common with Fishermen and on the route above Mauville, but you rarely see Whiscash around. Most evolutions can only be found when rebattling trainers too.

I always think Skarmory is gen 3. When I think of gen 3, Skarmory is one of the top things that pop to mind. This sprite in particular is too iconic.

Blew your mind, did I?

I had to remind myself again recently while replaying Y. Was battling Diantha’s Hawlucha with my Aegislash and it’s other attacks weren’t going to be very effective. Then I remembered. It’s always comes as a nice stupid little surprise because it’s so easy to forget.

The only reason I remember it being gen2 it's cause when I played silver I really wanted one for my Ingame team and never found it. I was 7 years old, didn't have access to Internet back then. So sad, I just remembered it from the anime
