Piggy backing off of point 3, a third version should ALWAYS allow you to catch all of the available mons for you in-game run. This will differentiate it from their same gen beta releases so much more than GF seems to realize. I can be bothered to base my new team around some that I couldn’t access before, but now I have to settle for the box legend I don’t like to get that experience, and also miss out on Blacephalon which is a bit enraging. I cannot let myself become those collection set drones that buy every last game, I’ll never have the time or the need to play all 4 in a gen, especially in the same exact region, and experience any other video game series for a 2-3 year span without making Pokémon my entire life. I can play a region twice in a row, tops. Anything else is forced game play to justify spent money, ad. nauseam.
I have always hated version exclusives, I understand their role in the beginning but that is dead now. PSS saved XY for a reason, it was goddamned bulletproof. If they had designer skins like the C-Gear it couldn’t have been any better. Trading is fun, but there are so many more reasons to trade than exclusives. There are multiple methods of trading now as well. I want a full experience not half. I don’t pay full price for half of a game and I will start pirating if this becomes the norm. I love GF like an old friend but there is a limit.
