>>34187619Accurate. It makes sense. The lowest class of intelligence is like most atheists here describe - they're easy persuaded, they believe in fanciful tales, they don't consider religion deeply and they simply accept it.
People in the middle - pretty decently educated and smart - think that they know everything (or at least that our species is capable of knowing everything). They see no proof of God in their education, they doubt God's existence, and decide that they are aware of reality enough to justify their atheism while looking down on the unintelligent theists.
But the wisest people recognize their own ignorance - the ignorance we possess as a species. They see how small and insignificant we are, and how little we know. They see the bounds caused by human ignorance, and begin to consider what could be beyond our understanding. They see again that God is a possibility, because they have observed that humans are incapable of knowing or understanding either way - whether God exists or not. It's beyond us. These wisest people most usually tend to be agnostics, never atheists, though a few prefer the leap of faith into becoming religious once more.
