Thanks and same anon. Mono single-types are so boring to use for me (besides Water-types, for obvious reasons) and I hate having two Pokemon of the same typing(s)

My ocd usually calls for one mulligan. So pick either Dog or Wolf. I'd say go Dog since it's new and looks cool in game. Alolan Sandslash is cool but you could also use like weavile or something

I chose Ampharos because I have a soft spot for it and I felt that I needed a pokemon that could mega evolve.

So I chose the one that obtained a dragon typing in its mega form.

I might change Lycanroc desu

I picked Rowlet in this game and this was originally what I was going to go for but since Pokebank isn't working and I don't know when GF will adapt it to USUM, I'll probably just go with Lapras or even Blastoise down the track if I can't trade over a Popplio before the first trial.

Really undecided with the Dhelmise slot, have a few other Alolan mons I considered like Togedamaru, Pallosand, Araquanid and I guess since they all come at different parts I'll test them all.

I'm unsure what to get once past Melemele Island, I got a Miltank for bulk and would like something with some speed, but I'm not sure what exactly will be available to me. Lopunny is probably the only Pokemon with a mega that works in-game without the +100 Boost. Plus early access to elemental punches and Drain Punch. Might replace Midnight Doggo with Jolteon.

I find it interesting that Golisopod was one of the most popular picks for SM, if not the most popular, but now it's way rarer.

Nah, but I do find my taste pretty similar to his. I like weird and creative monsters, the monsters are really the only thing that has kept me so interested in pokemon. Those six just happen to be Alola's best in my opinion. Dhelmise was love at first sight, now my third favorite pokemon.

Magnezone really is more fun early and mid game with the new move tutors. Also the shenanigans with Zoroark and Salazzle are just so fun. It's the perfect combination to fool the AI, attracting all the moves it resists or is immune too and avoiding all super effective ones.

I actually can't beat Totem Marowak, i just lost 6 times in a row to it. It's faster than every single one of my pokemon and it can kill any of them wiht a single attack, not to mention fucking Salazzle. Guess i'm going to go back, catch a fucking Araquanid and grind 10 levels on it.

Took a dump all over Hau, and this is the team that carried me to victory. In the back of my mind I was planning to replace Arbok with something, but that something never came around. I actually ended up replacing Hawlucha 9who stuck around until Ultra Necrozma) with Naganadel.
Naganadel didn't do a whole lot, but was to be expected since it was a whole 15-18 levels below my team when it was a Poipole, but it did have a nice showing against both Acerola and Olivia (even though it couldn't completely sweep both of them)

8 hours in and I'm just starting Lana's trial, I spent like 30 minutes fucking around in the Pikachu Valley.

Main Team so far is:

I also have Ellie the Growlithe, but she's got a terrible nature and Flash Fire which really hinders her so she's just been boxed even if it pains me to do it. Not sure who my last two are going to be but for the most part I think I'm sticking with my core four as is, leaving Zoe and Burnaby in their non-evolved states. I used a bunch of Alolamons during my Sun play through and don't want to reuse them so I'm likely going to grab a Vulpix at some point leaving my 6th slot open for a random mon.

I would most likely keep this in 10% Form until latter on in the game (around or after Necrozma) Besides, I don't even know when (OR IF) you can get the Zygarde cube during the main game as I already beat Dexio in Heahea City and he did not give me the cube like he does in SUMO. In that case, I might roll with Blissey in this spot.

Looks good, I used zydog in my Sun playthrough, it was pretty good. It's not even technically "legendary", 100 base attack isn't anything crazy. Nice choice with mitotic, though I hate how it lacks coverage.

As for my team, here's what I have planned:

I did use Magnemite in my original Sapphire run, but that was before the gift of literally any Steel STAB, before I knew how to breed for hidden power, and before the contact split. And even then Magneton was bro. So I'm looking forward to Magnezone!

Additionally, this is the team I'll use if I do a "only use Pokémon unavailable in SM" run, possibly replacing decidueye with Lopunny

I played both in Sun.
As a whole, the spider is a little frail at first but kinda useful against the fire trial and also later on.
Golisopod is good but his ability is annoying against wild pokemon and it takes a little while to raise it.

Golisopod is stronger but a little more annoying as a whole because of its ability.
So if you want a decent mon with tolerable weaknesses i'ld say go with spiderbro.
Both will be very annoying to play against the Rock whore though and Golisopod honestly is cool too, but his ability is fucking shit ingame.

I wanted to replace Noibat anyway. This is my team right now. I used Goodra before in my Y playthrough and I agree, it was tanky as hell especially with Assault Vest.
