And yet they still kept her Pokémon freezing antics, so they basically made her even more evil than before (because she no longer has the Nihilego toxin excuse) but also let her off with even less consequences.

Everything is the SM, the Nihilego appears, we fight her in the frozen Pokemon room, but then she fucks off to Ultra Sprace to... stop Necrozma for whatever fucking reason. While still being a bitch to Lillie and all. Shit doesnt make any sense.

Then, when Nebby evolves to the cover legendary, she and Guzma suddenly fall through the sky and she warns us to run away because Necrozma is a monster, which then appears and absorbs Nebby, just to fuck off back to Ultra Megapolis.

After that point, she just stands around at the Altar of the Sunne/Moone with the 2 UB Research people, who call her out on her shit, but then they all work together and you go to stop Necrozma. Thats it. She doesnt even have a big role after that, only in the Rainbow Rocket episode where Giovanni captures her and uses her as a cumdumbster (probably, she is passed out through the whole RR Episode).

In the original, it was to fill the world with beauty. She was a symbol of vanity in every facet. She ended up becoming obsessed with Ultra Space due to the dissapearance of her husband and ended up latching to the Ultra Beasts as her ultimate vision of beauty, making her incredibly vulnerable to the advanced of Nihilego. She decides to bring the Ultra Beasts she saw and beautiful to earth, and as she degraded due to Nihilego's influence decided to return to it's home world and become one with the Beast.
Well, at least that's how it was in SM.
Now she's just kind of a shitty mom who was apparently trying to make preemptive steps to solve a problem the Ultra Recon Squad created. They kept a lot of her crazy scenes and Nihilego is there... kinda. But the whole theme of vanity clouding her judgement is weakened and the point to her character becomes unclear.

I don't understand why they didn't just make her crazy for Necrozma this time instead. It would be a much smoother transition for the story. Introduce the URS as potential allies, then have Lusamine go behind their backs and free Necrozma to fuel her UB obsessed insanity.

Also Lusamine does mention the fact that Nihilego seems to be suffering in the short time it spends on the PokéEarth is SM, which is what pretty much triggers her "let's protect all the poor and beautiful Ultra Beasts" mindset. Necrozma is constantly in pain, it would have made sense for Lusamine to want to save it, hell she could have even tried to give Nebby to it.

Her character was weird in USM. She still had the weird Ultra Beast fetish going on, but she didn't actively seek to bring them to Alola, and it didn't seem like she was being influenced by Nihilego in any way (still has the frozen mons).
So for some reason she listens to the plea of the URS and decides to take on Necrozma with Guzma despite Gladion, Lillie and the MC trying to stop her. It seems like she went from crazy in SM to arrogant in USM, but with some of her former crazy characteristics still left over without any context.

None of that is here in US and UM, she's just extremely full of herself and thinks she can do everything herself, through even then, she truly believes in Guzma's strength as she trusted him enough to take him to ultra space with her to beat down Necrozma while in the original she only saw him as a pawn.

I know this is basically an alternate universe from the original sun/moon but this whole recon was literally unnecessary especially with replacing her with Faba makes it all the more disappointing.

I kinda wish they went more with Lusamine's insanity like pulling a Marik/Wing Dragon of Ra fusion but with Ultra Necrozma. Her fusion with Nihilego was pretty rare in a boss battle
