Hi, I came to ask /vp/ what does it think about the new 2ds xl (and the new3ds in general).
I wanted to buy one but I'm not sure.
Is it worth, considering that Nintendo will end it's support on 2018?

Yeah there's a lot of good games for it outside of Pokemon. And if you're up for it Hacking it isn't the most difficult thing if you want free games

I only bought one because my o3DS died. I personally wouldn't unless you can't use your existing one (if you have one), you want to play n3DS exclusives, or you absolutely can't tolerate the FPS drops in Gen VII games (it's better for n3DS, but not completely gone).
But this is your first, it's pretty decent.

I'm getting soon, and the only reason is because i want a definitive system to be able to play all of my DS and 3DS games on. MY DSi is too small an my 2DS is cheaply made along with having lagging problems on gen 7 games.

Yes it can, but what you need depends on your firmware:

On the newest FW for example you need a hacked o3DS/2DS with specific DSIware titles

NEW 3DS/2DS will always outperform the older models in the later enhanced games.

I like how light it is really. The only downside on the NEW 2DS XL is that there isn't a battery door. The top screen is very reminiscent of an iPhone in size and is also the only moving part. It's designed to last a while.

Even if derpmon don't use 3d, there's a lot of games that look waaay better with the 3d on.

My New 3DS XL started having sticky buttons and had chipping paint in less than a year of use. It never happened with my 3DS or 3DSXL.

I have a n3ds and played around with my bud's n2ds for awhile.

N2ds has a better look to it, and the memory card and game slots are way better, but it honestly feels cheap as hell. N3ds is more solid and feels better in your hands as a result.

Really it's up to you, but if you want to jailbreak it the n2ds will make your job a bit easier since you don't have to fuck around with a screwdriver multiple times.

I think the design is cool, but two problems I personally have with it- i'm not sure if the battery is better than n3dsxl, 3d is kinda cool in some games, and what I really hate- speakers. What nintendo nails int heir consoles is the artificial surround feel with the speakers facing your ears. n2ds has them at the bottom so its like playing a phone.

Just be cautious with it.
It breaks very easily compared to earlier renditions of the 3ds/2ds family.

Ideally you should have a carrying case, so unless you're willing to look like a dork with a 3DS case in his hand everywhere he goes, I'd think wisely.
