What's a good emulator for 1st gen pokemon?

I was wanting to mess around with glitches and whatnot so save-states and more advanced stuff would be good.

VBA is fine if you just want to mess with basic glitch stuff

if you want to do more advanced stuff gambatte-speedrun is the most accurate in regards to some of the rng manipulation stuff

BGB is king and the most accurate emulator out there, but VBA 1.7 is great too. The 3DS is good for Yellow and GS, but not so much for RBG because you're stuck with monochrome for them.
