I've been putting off creating my own living dex for too long and want to get started. I have a few questions for those of you who have completed the living dex to help me.

I have Y/S for the virutal console, Emerald, D/P, HG and Black for the advanced / DS and OR / Moon for the 3DS.

Whats the most effective way to complete my living dex with those resources? Should I even bother with the DS / GBA games since I can only transfer so many at a time with pal park and whatever other gimmicks they had?

Start with the 3DS games and only work from order gens when absolutely necessary. /gag/ gives out tons of free valuables if you don't mind hacks. Trade for breedable Pokemon whenever possible, sometimes wi-fi general is in a generous mood for them.

Start by making a list of all Pokemon you don't currently have, then figure out what game you can capture them in / when or how they evolve.
Start with the oldest game first: you can always move *up* generations from Emerald to D/P, etc. It also makes it easier once you have a "catching crew" to move it forward.
The poke transfer minigame in D/P is really not hard to use. It is slower than Bank, but it only takes a few moments per minigame.
Don't worry about mythics initially, but if / when you catch duplicate legendaries you can probably trade them for the mythics you are missing.

ORAS can give you the greatest amount of the stuff for your living dex, but you'll need the opposite versions to get the rest of the legends. Figure out which legends you can get with ORAS and then catch the rest on the GBA/DS games before moving them up.
