>>34202270Fair. I also personally disliked how in order to have a completely unique dex without old Pokemon Pokemon in higher level areas have ridiculously high levels for evolution. This sticks with them for any next generation which is a pain. BW2 handled this a lot better but so did Platinum. They seemed to have learned their lesson with XY in this respect.
That's also fair. Personally I still had a lot of fun with the original BW gym battles, but I agree that the elite four was disappointing (and Alder was a terrible champion).
Personally I liked the story though I admit it has flaws and could've been handled better. The copout with Ghetsis was very disappointing. To say it would be just as bad with cutscenes if it were in the 3ds era is unfair, since that isn't something it actually did, only a hypothesis or whatever. I didn't personally feel like this game was anymore hand holdy as DPP but I could be mistaken.
I liked the sprites and how smoothly the battles ran, but I can see how people would dislike the "doll cutout style" of animation they went with. The way sprites stretched and got ugly at certain angles in the overworld was pretty bad. This was definitely an awkward merging of 2d sprites and a semi 3d environment. As result the overworld could look a bit muddy.
Your dislike for the dex is an opinion. I personally dislike gen 7 and gen 4's dex but I wouldn't say that they're unappealing. Just not to my tastes.
I liked gen 5, so I can overlook these things that other people like you dislike. It's cool.
