wow...its not that the games are bad they're just....boring? I guess?

I've been playing since Gen II and for some reason I can't get into ultra sun. Yes it is a sequel game so I expected a lot of it to be a copy/paste of the original game, but for some reason (while this worked fine for Emerald and Platinum) this is just not working for me at all. Everything just feels like a chore. I'm just tired of the hand-holding, how painfully easy the game is and 15 minute cutscenes and forcing me into gimmicky minigames and off the path crap I don't give a shit about, but even if those things didn't exist I simply don't "feel" like playing this game. I thought i'd be compelled to play it since it has been about 6 months since I touched pokemon Sun, but nope. There's just so many other (better) games I feel like I should be playing with the small amount of free time I have....IDK maybe I have very little interest in this because I know there's a Switch game in the works, but this game feels so mundane and unnecessary.
