>>34213265>Almost every Pokemon villain has been either misunderstood or a well intentioned extremistI know being evil for the sake of it doesn't quite cut it for folks these days, but I think we should have a few every now and then to balance it out, especially since having everyone else just be a maniac that only means well or was deep down a hurt soul or whatever can get boring.
Funny how if you look at it this way, the presence of Giovanni and Team Rocket in the original games was meant to introduce us to the concept of Pokemon being used for pure malevolent means. How someone could abuse, exploit and even weaponize them for evil ambitions, but shortly after the concept most future villains introduced was how you can't hope to control/contain the power of Pokemon if it's to fulfill some extremist greater good ideal that would clearly throw the world out of balance.
