There's nothing in USUM that can't be a $20 DLC pack for SM, no one should spend $40 to replay the same game with minor changes in this day and age.

desu it's not that its not different, it's that there were a lot of egregrious things missing from SM that were expected to be fixed and werent.

It's just that people didnt like SM and wanted to like USUM and it left them disappointed

It really was the little things for me. Stoutland itemfinding is still unusably slow, the charizard fly cutscene takes three times longer than it needs to, and SOS chaining could have been made less tedious or more rewarding with fewer KOs.

I wouldn't have minded paying for the same game if they at least made competitive less tedious (the roto egg hatching power hardly comes up, I hear), but they even messed that up. First games I haven't bought since emerald

Hell, all the people saying "havent you heard of third versions" are retards bringing us back, since we went two generations without third versions, and regressed back to a worse version of them, as content is still split between two versions.

There is no defending this at all

Exactly. SM with its many holes had the highest potential for an upgrade of any Pokemon game, and I would have loved said upgrade that just did SM right, forget a sequel. But it really reveals the ignorance of GF and the divide between them and fans when you see that they, when only a year is available to improve, spend resources on something like a photo club feature.

If everyhing in USUM was a DLC pack, you could pay $20, get a NG+ option, then play "Ultra Sun/Moon" on a fresh save with all the stuff added, or maybe it could just be downloaded then be played as postgame content with the new UBs as catchable bosses, or something, literally anything is better than just reselling a spiffed up game at full price.
