Honestly, probably the first time I've seen such wide criticism for a Pokemon game. The recent games were mostly liked outside of a vocal minority on /vp/, but this is a different story. I think releasing too close to SM is the main problem, if this wasn't the 3DS's last real year, it might have been made for next year with more differences.
