I actually like that different gens have different features. If every game had a huge battle frontier it wouldn't be as fun replaying Emerald or Platinum. Or chaining shinies in Gen 4. Etc.

The amount of people insulting Masuda just because "he gives interviews" kind of disgusts me. The amount of people insulting the developers and saying they want them dead in general disgusts me, to be honest, but to aim it all like that is repulsive.
I know that the gaming community as a whole has a bad reputation for these things, but I kind of wished that at least this fan community hadn't fallen far enough to be grouped with the retards who think that screaming and flinging death threats is a good way to complain about a game's lack of content.

I've bought all main pokemon games since silver and gold, every single version and third game and every pokemon ranger and mystery dungeon game as well as pokemon colosseum, XD and Battle Revolution, but I just don't feel like buying USUM because I don't think they put enough effort into it and as much money as I have I don't want to spend it on cheaply made games anymore

I bought Sun and Ultra Sun.

Apart from the cutscenes I think they are great.

The region is great. The pokedex is good. The overworld is some of the best in any pokemon game.

Alola is my favorite region, despite it's flaws. It's fucking beautiful. Shit, even the anime is really nice to me. I love all the characters which makes the cutscenes very tolerable and even enjoyable most of the time. A lot of mons this gen have immediately shot up my favorites list. While a lot of people say gen 7 killed the magic of Pokemon for them, for me it only revived it. I've played all the gens upon release btw.

That being said, I do understand the serious flaws and missteps GF has been making as of late and hope there's some serious course correction. As i'm seriously enjoying these games myself for personal reasons, I do hope GF takes the negative feedback and make some big improvements. I have mid level expectations for the Switch release.

I loved SM but USUM feels like such a low blow that I'm emulating USUM. The real reason I'm not happy with USUM is no Alolan forms, I just cannot get over how much of a missed opportunity this was and really hope the game either does poorly or gets enough negative reviews that we get regional forms back next gen.

Contests, Musicals, Pokeathelon, Pokestar, Singles, Doubles, Triples, Rotation, Inverse, Battle Arena shenanigans, Battle Pyramid exploration, playing with them in Amie and in Pelago, surfing and doing tricks with my mons, soaring and exploring the region with my mons,
and whatever other bullshit GF can think of. I want more to do with my Pokemon than just battling online.

I know that there will never be a game with all this or even a fourth of this, and yet I keep going because I know GF is at least good at making Pokemon and designing regions.

My team and I have basically gotten the shit kicked out of us by Gladion, Guzma, Lusamine, and all of the major characters (except for Hau) and Totem mons since the Lana trial, and when we finally win these battles it's because of revive/potion stall shenanigans, getting lucky crits, and, in general, hanging on in the red on the last mon.

I'm tempted to trade my team (minus orange dogo) to vanilla Sun and grind them until they stop being outsped by mons 4 levels below them. I've never felt this shit at Pokémon before.

I never understand when people say a Pokemon doesn't look like a Pokemon.
They have changed things while keeping the general idea - more natural designs, while even using objects.
But above all - as much as we love the series, we're the fans. The series is theirs. They are the ones who know what Pokemon are like.
That being said, yeah, it's fine to not like Pokemon and all - but to say it doesn't look like Pokemon just seems nonsensical.
