Nothing implies he's actively being looked for and he's also fatter and tanner than he was before thanks to his island lifestyle. The only real plot hole is that the MC doesn't mention knowing someone named Mohn considering they hear the name mentioned earlier.

How could they write a heavy plot about child abuse where the triggering incident of the whole thing is the disappearance of the dad...

and then simultaneously go "haha wouldn't it be funny/neat if we made the dad a random side character? good thing we have a semi-silent protagonist"

In SM Lillie is astounded if you say she seems nice, in USUM she's replies like she's not surprised you would think that. She's literally insane in SM, it's not just because Nihilego got to her. He's just wrong. Mohn doesn't travel around the islands in SM. He only appears when you visit his hut. The tutorial speech boxes are just there because fucking SM isn't going to suddenly go light on the tutorial screens
