Anyone else really like the NPCs in this game? Moments from nameless NPCs that I feel like just help give the world a bit more personality. There's...
>pic related, the Ditto hunting, and all of its horrifying implications
>the little kid with the Kangaskhan that he borrowed from his brother on Route 8 I believe
>the little girl with the Sandyghast near the Megamart which was distressed and lost because of the sand it was on
>that one actress who fights you with an Oricorio in the different styles and meadows
>that one golfer on Hokulani Mountain who just battles you from across the way because why the hell not
>bottles on the beach that can be taken to NPCs for either a reward or a battle
>finding a picture in the library and you end up actually figuring out what that's about on Poni Island
>the various duo NPCs that challenge you to a double battle doing all sorts of things, like the Black Belt quartet in Mt. Lanakila just practicing their moves, the Black Belt and Preschooler duo also practicing their moves near Route 8
>not to mention all of the interactable Pokemon that you can pet or play with
It's... the little things. In the grand scheme, these are all very unnecessary, like... who cares if this kid is borrowing his brother's Kangaskhan? We didn't need to know or see that. But I felt like that really added to the experience. Like... yeah, this is just some kid who wanted a stronger Pokemon even if he didn't know how to raise or train it.
Or like, the Sandyghast. I actually felt really bad for it. The way I saw and heard it thrash about genuinely made me believe it was lost, scared, confused, and upset all at the same time. Alright, maybe I'm looking far too into that one. But still.
