Because they didn't even want to put character customization in gen 7. GF passed on it for ORAS and plainly said that trainer customization was to be a Kalos thing only.

They received INSANE pushback from this, and decided to give it to us in gen 7 too. Granted they weren't happy about it so it's the laziest fucking customization you can imagine.

I'm on the second island with the same starter I choose from the beginning and apart from the cutscene where they introduce themselves to the player's mom and her meowth (which was in SM), my starter has yet to appear beside me.

I still like Mortal Realm Homu over Nutcracker Homu. Why they changed a already nice design I still don't get it. It's not bad, don't get me wrong, I really like Nut Queen, but still do. At least Ophelia and Candeloro are intact.

GameFreak was fucking retarded to ever remove customization in the first place. If this was ANY company besides GF we would have customization on the regular and we would have had it probably a decade ago.
