no, Mind Blown doesn't kill you necissarily.
It costs half of your max HP to use, and is a bit weaker than explosion (due to stab).
Give Blacephalon something to boost Special Attacks or Fire Attacks and you have a pretty decent, re-usable explosion that will even boost you due to beast boost.

I think it would just be like any other attack.
