Tiki culture, in general - it is inspired in tiki carvings and mythology, but very loosely, and you can't see something about Hawaii without the connection to Tiki bars/Polynesian themed restaurants that are decorated with it.
It originated in America - around 1934.

I think that this is in reference to the fact that the post asks where are the Pokemon inspired in American cryptids, when Hawaii's culture is separate from it. It is part of America because of the annexation, but it doesn't mean its culture is the same, or that they have the same folklore. So, it would be more like-
