because BW2 was a different take on the third version, it was the first time it was a sequel instead of a touch up. it is also the most recent "third version" before USUM so it makes sense to compare USUM with BW2. to add onto that, both BW2 and USUM are split as opposed to previous third versions.
also i assume that neither side miss their chance to bring it up, whether they praise or bash it.
