>>34264730You actually didn't understand the first three paragraphs, really? Not even the one specifically saying, and I quote, "So we're all agreed that if the zodiac was around, it wasn't around in gens 1 and 2, and only came gen 3+." You truly believe that I was bringing up Honoguma to try and prove that Cyndaquil was intended to be in the zodiac? No, no. No, I was saying that Cyndaquil was not intended to be in the zodiac (alongside Charizard) until at least gen 3, when they realized they "sort of fit." Because they're a dragon and a fire mouse. That's the basis of it. "If you have to point towards beta gen 2 designs that were scrapped then you should realize you're grasping at straws" It proves that they did not have the Zodiac theory in mind at least until gen 3. This means that Cyndaquil's loose fit is absolved, if the theory holds true. It means that IF this theory is true, that Charmander and Cyndaquil circumstantially fit it, and everything after was chosen to fit said theory. Does that make sense?
Ok, next part. "In any case, that doesn't mean that Fire-type starters absolutely have to follow a pattern especially since only Infernape and Emboar follow the JTTW gimmick."
Yes! You're right, it doesn't prove it. But, it does imply it. IF we state - for the sake of argument - that both the Water and Grass starters have patterns, and IF we state that the Fire starters have followed a pattern before (Even if smaller than I initially thought) then we can infer, using an educated guess, that the Fire starters also follow a general pattern. Do you agree with this? I feel like it's a reasonable conclusion. You can disagree, of course, especially if you consider the Grass pattern a stretch - but can you see the argument I'm making, and does it make sense?
Alright, sorry if I'm being hysterical, I just feel like the logic is there. I don't want you to agree with me, per se; I just want you to see and understand why I believe what I do.
