If Lillie had gotten Nebby, it would have evolved into Lunala, but since Ash got it, it's evolving into Solgaleo.

If Ash gets a Solgaleo and wins the Alola league he's going to decide to stay there and after 20+ years we're going to get a new protagonist. Calling it now, it'd be the perfect time to do it. I've been catching up with the SM anime and the 20th anniversary episode where he goes to that uninhabited island and eventually has that little speech to Pikachu about how much he loves Alola and wants to become a Pokemon master still made me feel like that might be the outcome.

Then again, there has been plenty of perfect times to switch it up so it'll most likely not happen.

Even if every game happens in some universe there's still one version which more relevance/focus than the other one. Diamond comes before Pearl, and before these two Platinum is priority, same for White over Black, Sun and UltraSun over Moon and UltraMoon, etc.
You know by multiverse rule the protagonist beating the league with 6 Magikarp happened too in some universe, but it's far of being the relevant version of the story

They contain more light energy than an entire universe, seeing as how spending a few minutes with Nebby is enough to restore Necrozma whereas eating all the light in the other world is not.
