Is there any bonuses verses ignoring it and just using it for trades, etc.; rather than going through the trouble of playing missions, talking to guests, etc. and levelling it up to a higher rank and getting higher star facilities?

The rest of the rewards for levelling up seem to just be cosmetic shit, apart from that you get to buy some more items at certain facilities once you hit Rank 30 and become Champion.
Seems like it's better to just grind Festival Coins so that you can buy high-rank facilities off other people (I think you can do that? Not sure though, I haven't gone online yet) and then buy stuff at those facilities, rather than hoping Sophocles offers you something good when you level up.
