Kinda implies their relationship wasn't so sweet though and he wasn't so happy with her either and maybe that's why she let him go. She immediately recognized him, but made sure to check whether his memory was really wiped out. He didn't seem to recognize her at all.
She could try to "meet" him all over though, get to know his new him (ya know, start from zero) although that would involve a lot of commitment from her.
