Just thought I'd share it with /vp/. I'm pretty hype as I never encounter shinies. Might as well use this thread for cool shiny encounters other people have run into in Gen VII. Only accidental ones though. No SR shinies allowed.

SoS battles are pure garbage, its one game mode that should never return again for how tedious and retarded it is.

I found a shiny Munchlax before I encountered a Snorlax. Took me 4 hours just to find a Snorlax.

Found a shiny Jigglypuff while hunting for male Jigglypuffs.

The only saving grace is that it only took me about 30 minutes to find a Bagon and Salamence.

I'm not going to even begin with the SoS fishing spots, that's way more retarded.

Not bad. I got three totally random (no SR, no MM, no shiny charm, etc.) shiny encounters in Sun. A Zubat in Verdant Cavern, minutes after completing the trial and as I was leaving, on the SM release date; a Magby in Wela Volcano Park the very next day (I had seen a Magby earlier, and pledged to get one before I left after completing the trial. First Magby encounter post-trial was the shiny); and finally a Trumbeak on Route 11 about a month later, while looking for a Paras.

Honestly think part of me was hyped for this game because of how much I really enjoy SR hunting. So any legendaries with good shinies to hunt for.

SOS is good for shiny hunting but aids if you're looking for a specific mon/casually playing.

Forgot how much I hated these things casually while playing through US. I love using SOS to hunt for stuff, but fuck me is it a drag.

This one was my first shiny ever.

For reference: I hadn't played a Pokemon game since Yellow, and was only recently trying to get back into it with the announcement of Sun and Moon. I had no idea how significantly the game mechanics had changed since then, with the exception of knowing there were new types and shiny Pokemon were a thing. But the moment I saw the leaked image of shiny Salazzle, I thought "fuck, I NEED this thing".

I didn't have the shiny charm when I finally decided I was ready to try SOS chaining. I just figured 1 in a thousand chances was better than zero. She showed up at around 143 encounters. She's Rash nature, and she misses out on Fake Out, but she's my favorite regardless.

Been trying out the SOS stuff with pichu.

I got to a chain of around 50 and a shiny pikachu appeared. It was holding a lightball and was a timid nature.

Because this wasnt over 70 in the chain, was it just normal shiny chance? If so, I may have used all lifetime's worth of luck on this encounter.

That was the first shiny I found and I've been playing since Gen 3; I also found a shiny hippowdon in the wormholes but that doesn't really count

I don't think so, but it'd probably be better if you hunted for it after the initial encounter, as the 2nd time you battle it (and so forth) it'll skip the part where it slices the rock and just start the battle, which makes SRing slightly less tedious.
