>>34271769>Because going through subs isn't as big a deal as you make it out to be and is situationalOk, let's take a look at usage stats from players above 1630 in UU for these three particular moves on Primarina.
>Scald 33.715% >Sparkling Aria 28.258% >Surf 7.708%You say it's not a big deal, but half the players at decent ratings decided to use Sparkling Aria over Scald - arguably one of the best moves in the game - or move coverage. If it's not a big deal, why do these players do this? Why do tournament players do it every single time? You are clearly in the minority thinking Sparkling Aria is incredibly situational or generally worse than Surf.
>Decidueye didn't get much of anything in USUM.It did get Shadow Sneak, which is better than Sucker Punch. Tail Wind and Leaf Storm are also options now. Saying it didn't get much of anything is wrong.
I already know you are probably going to say something like "Sucker Punch is better than Shadow Sneak!", though.
Lastly, Primarina's HA is not worthless. It's made for Doubles, giving Primarina an option to hit both opponents with a STAB moves in Doubles thanks to Liquid Voice Hyper Voice and Dazzling Gleam. Again, it's just not great, but by no means useless for the Pokemon in general. It's not great because the Pokemon shines in other aspects.
