Unown is actually noteworthy for being the only mon you can't get with a gen VII approved cross, due to it not being in the games nor being able to breed.

Bronzor is completely different and not special, there are tons of mons you can't obtain in gen VII, but you can get VII approved exemplars by breeding old ones.

this is the first generation where game freak stopped making an effort to have all Pokemon available in the generation. there are like fucking 50 pokemon missing. maybe 100. maybe more

I feel like I'm forgetting one more but either way, Bellosom is referenced all over the place yet is nowhere to be seen in the dex.

That's not entirely true. Only about 250 pokémon aren't available in USUM. You're forgetting that there are a lot of mons you can get through island scan and wormholes that aren't in the dex.
But your point that there is a decent chunk not available at all still stand.

I believe this is the third generation where we need to transfer from previous Gens to get all of them (not counting startes and legendaries).

Gen 2 we needed Gen 1 games to get the fossils (maybe more Pokémon but I don't remember). Although at this time it was a simple trade and not a transfer.

Gen 5 needed transfer to get Pichu line (probably because they always liked to say every time "OMG A PIKACHU IN UNOVA? WE NEVER HAVE THOSE HERE" and Unown. Also, after the whole Wi-fi thing close for the DS and the Dream World close we lost access to 15 families if I recall correctly.

However, this time the numbers were way to big... We may not even have access to 600 out of the 800+ mons after Island Scan and Legendary hunting on USUM... It's pretty shitty. Maybe to fit with the theme that this time there's no National Dex in-game??

Since we're on the subject, an anon made this a week ago or so. Idk if it's totally accurate, but it should be about right with the pokemon we can't obtain in Gen 7 without transfer and breeding.
