Accept it, Gen 5 was the era when the franchise finally started to stall out, from the games to the anime to even the Pokemon design, all of it was growing old. 3DS era was the reboot the franchise desperately needed.

You're not wrong, say what you will about gen 5 but the 3ds games have been absolutely ridiculously shallow and full of normie kanto pandering. Gen 5 had problems but it was the last series of games to deliver a comprehensive and unique Pokémon adventure.

Yes, it was glorious.

To this day there is no rival that rival N. He's not your "friend" he's someone who's a threat and diametrically opposes you. His gimmick with locally sourced pokemon were amazing. By the end of BW2, he's gone full OU weather faggotry based on the season. This guy is a fucking riot.

-I don't see anything wrong with Super Modes or Final Desperation attacks in Pokemon games. However I do hate that some Super Modes should have been standard evolutions to begin with on Pokemon that are single staged to begin with.

-Pokemon lore needs to expand. Trying to stay making it facsimile of our world limits its potential.

There kinda is a reason why they don't: everyone hated it since they couldn't use there paat gen bros and why so many old mons came back in BW2. I doubt they will have the guts to do that again. Which is also probably why the number of new mons introduced has shrinked.

I really wish the alternate universe interpretation were true. Gen 6 and 7 were nothing but mistakes, with exception of the base new pokemons on Gen 6 and 7 which were fine, minus the ultra beasts

I don't mind the concept of formes. Alolan Marowak was also great. Grimer/Muk line are always depicted as closely related to their environment, more precisely the kind of waste people had so I don't mind them having a Dark type Alolan form. As mentioned previously I think everyone liked Exeguttor.

However the rest of Alolan forms are just lazy. Lol it's a diglett with a wig. It's Golem but with mustache. What a lazy excuse of rehash

Sprites are legitimately one of the things I'll miss about old pokemon the most.

Before gen 6 came out, I was really hoping they would still make sprites to put in the pokedex or something, but I guess that would've been too much extra work.

At least we have fan made sprites. Does anyone have a picture with gen 6/7 sprites?

When you give a mega to something like beedrill, it only helps beedrill. Which is what most people wanted because otherwise beedrill was pretty much unusable. Z moves basically go on everything so you end up mainly kust seeing it help the already powerful pokemon by giving them chances to one hit KO major threats they would normally have. There are a few quirky z moves that sound kind of fun to use but otherwise its just a long cutscene whoch gets boring after the first few times of seeing it. Not to mention a lot of the signature z moves (( with exeption to massive stat boosting ones)) are often not worth it over a regular item.

Yeah Z-Moves only make good Pokemon even better. Giving a Pokemon with bad stats a powerful move doesn't do much, while giving a powerful Pokemon a way to kill its checks and counters makes it even more stronger, like with Flynium/Rockium Landorus, or Dragonium Naganadel.

Technically, Gen V was on the DSi but is compatible with the original DS. Gen VII is technically on the New 3DS series but plays on regular 3DS/2DS hardware.

I didn't say that, but now that you mention it, I did love how one version got rotation battles and the other got triple battles and they were both shit. I also loved the challenge mode implementation, and how challenge mode was easier than normal mode.

What are you talking about? Z-Moves improve everybody sure, but Megas overwhelmingly went to Pokemon that didn't need it. A lot of the best Pokemon aren't improved by Z-Moves because one big crit in exchange for a Held Item is a real choice, while giving the most powerful Pokemon +100 BST upgrades could only be called a mistake.
