"Faint" is a mistranslation, it's supposed to just be "unable to battle". "Fainted" Pokemon are still conscious and able to move around.

Same with "why are Pokemon with shit speed stats described as being fast runners in the dex?" - "Speed" is a mistranslation of what's translated as "Agility" in literally every single other nip RPG. You can be fast without being agile.

Maybe not all Pokemon, but Normal types definitely can.

Answer seems indefinite for how long. The idea of making Pokeballs from plants (Apricorns) seems awfully silly though. The Arceus movie suggested Pokemon were controlled using bindings and one anime episode suggested Pokemon were mind controlled by an ancient mask.

-The ones that don't like being confined know what's up.

-Berries, fruits, plants, algae, plankton, other Pokemon, "Pokemon Food" which has undisclosed ingredients. Some Pokemon rely on hosts like Remoraid scraping off stuff from Mantine.

-Predatory and natural enemy Pokemon lines exist. Some are probably intelligent enough to have a sense of honor though.

-Audino, Wigglytuff, Lapras, Swoobat, Comfey or Chansey nurse them back to health

There was an anime special that explained that the Pokemon that occasionally come out of their ball on their own do so because they can hear what's going on outside the ball and come out in response to that (the specific example used was Brock's Croagunk coming out to stab him when he starts flirting with girls), so they're definitely fully conscious inside those balls.

Also in that episode I remember that they had a magikarp in in one of those display tanks in restaurants, It was heavily implied if not directly stated that it was going to be eaten.

Yes, as others above have stated.

Yes, see: all the Pokémon cemeteries in every generation. Contrary to popular belief, outside of the anime, Pokémon is pretty open about discussing death and has been since the first games.

Depends on the source. One says in the 1920s, while others talk about Poké Balls being used for hundreds of years, while still others (a older gen 5 gym leader, I think), says that they didn't exist when he was a kid. I'd say that last one is the closest to official, though, since it comes directly from the game. However, that's Unova; using Kurt's apricorn methods, it still could be hundreds of years prior to mass production.

Beats me. Magic properties, etc.

Yes. USUM states, during a tense scene in the postgame involving Ghetsis, that the ball shakes with anger, which means the mons are aware of what's going on outside the ball.

Berries, mainly. Some, however, like Toxapex with Corsola, do eat other mons.
>Does Pokémon kill other Pokémon in the wild?
Probably. See above, but more extreme.

Its tribe probably brings it back to their home; if it's alone... well, it probably becomes prey unless a ranger or a trainer finds it first. The anime's done plenty of episodes on this concept.
