I've hunted over 100 shinies, and several were legendary SR hunts. I just never got the charm before and was expecting this to be a little quicker than normal. If you know if the charm affects gifts and want to answer that I'd appreciate it.

It's actually really dumb that this thing isn't shiny locked when you think about it. Its literally shown in the overworld in its normal purple color, but can suddenly be shiny when you get it given to you? I thought this was one of the reasons for locking in the first place but I guess it is just story legends.

In all seriousness, shiny charm might not affect Poipole. When you reset for a shiny Type: Null or other giftmons in SM, the game would only roll once for a shiny instead of three times, regardless of whether or not you have the charm. It's probably the same in USUM.
