Not really, thats the most common way to beat it I find.

I had to PP stall it's photon geyser so I could have a sturdy mon survive a move in order to toxic (as photon geyser bypasses sturdy). Literally no idea how you're supposed to beat it without toxic unless you've overleveled your team.

Intimidate mon + Tyranitar works too. Lower it's attack until Smart Strike won't one-shot TTar and Crunch it to death.

I paralyzed it with thunder wave and my Mienshao spamed U-turn on it until it fainted. Not the hardest battle in the game at all.

The hardest is definitely Giovanni and his level 70 Mewtwo. And that's because I have no priority moves or set up sweepers.

Use the type advantage AI to your advantage. It will only use Photon Geyser if the current Pokemon is Fighting or Poison (but not Dark), so switch to a Dark type. If the Dark type isn't weak to Rock or Steel, it will fall back on Dragon Pulse so switch to a Fairy. Then kt will try to use Smart Strike so switch to something that resists Steel. It's low damage and non-STAB so doesn't even need to be bulky. If it's Salazzle or a Fire/Fighting you can start the loop over again. Otherwise it will now try to use Power Gem so switch to a Ground-type, etc.
