It apparently becomes fatter since it gets thick fat, but it still makes little sense since using fat to protect from cold is something only birds and mammals do, to my knowledge.

The ones that I don't get out of the megas are heracross and manectric. What about m-heracross screams skill link? if anything and what about m-manectric screams intimidate? m-glalie looks more intimidating already.

You don't have to "use" fat to protect from harsh temperatures. Fat intrinsically has this quality. Venusaur is a fat fuck and its fat must get denser when it mega evolves. Temperature resistance seems like the ultimate adaptation for a plant, using its animal properties to achieve it.

What screams skill link about anything that learns it? It's arbitrary. Heracross gets it because it turns into a mech, so it hits all its shots once it locks on.
