As a Frontierfag I'll be the first to admit a major reason most of us want the BF back is from an aesthetic viewpoint, mechanically speaking. What I mean by that is, being facilities each with their own gimmick that adds a either a different take on battles or a different way to progress(which honestly makes them more than just 'rehashes') makes it more interesting and incites players to return for more, moreso than a plain battle tower.
