Of course this isn’t the kids’ fault, that’s how kids find out about themselves and what they like in the first place, but manchildren failed to develop their identity properly and so still cling to things they like and use them as surrogate personalities. Pokémon attracts the worst kind of manchildren so naturally, as an adult fan of a series aimed at children, you will find it impossible not to encounter at least a few of these spergs who feel the need to make their presence and opinions known in their eternal quests for validation amongst their peers.
tl;dr, it’s because Pokémon is aimed at kids so amongst the adult fans it’ll normally have a higher number of spergs than a series aimed at older audiences.
