I used Ultra Sun/Moon as a way to finally use the team I wanted for Sun/Moon. I did use four of these in the originals but I had to do it legit, no transfers so Vikavolt and Kommo-o were late game. On top of that my first experience with Salazzle was awful, it had a lowered special attack nature which was more of a hindrance than I would have thought. Using GTS shenanigans (and eventually pokebank) I was able to use my Alola dream team, Jangmo-o at the start, a Vikavolt I didn't have to wait till Poni Canyon for (Ironically I was unaware they changed his evolution location) and I finally got to use Silvally, I even traded over a ground memory and used him as my ground type. Wishiwashi was the only one I never planned on using in the original, and after multiple playthroughs of the original I had used Araquanid and Golisopod so I thought I'd finally try him. He wasn't as fun as I thought he'd be (Though certainly a powerhouse) and got replaced by Ultra Necrozma late game because I needed something with STAB coverage for fighting types.

I feel like my team is missing something but I don't know what it is, it just feels incomplete or not cohesive. On my way to fight Ya Boi in Po Town. Maybe I need a cleric? I tried to catch a Happiny on Melemele but crit killed her so I guess I have to go back.

They changed Vikavolt, Magnezone, and Probopass's Evolution location to blush mountain. You know, the place with the electric plant on the third island that should have been where they evolved in the originals. If you've never heard of it, it's a branch off the path at the end of the route where you use Mudsdale and is where you find Togedemaru and (if playing the sun versions) Turtonator.

Getting ready to do the ghost trial and thinking about replacing Jynx as it just hasn't been doing much that other members can't do. Not sure what to replace it with though.

This is my current online team. Going for a hyper-aggressive rain play with a number of configurations. Greninja and Cloyster offer some situational support as a Varied Sweeper and a Set-Up Wallbreaker respectively.

There's something refreshing about maintaining a theme that's viable without having to resort to the same old "press x to win" pokemon.

Maybe add a Primeape/Pangoro to the team?

And consider using a nice ground type like Flygon or Krookodile (although you may have used them already). I don't recommend dugtrio cause too many fire weaknesses.

you have no grass resistances which could be a problem. I would recommend Empoleon since it helps vs fairies but I can't really say he is great on rain teams.

Yeah, that's the thing: it's difficult to strike the right balance between theme and viability. Mostly this particular team works purely on speed and raw power. It's very high-offense, low-defense. When it's executed correctly, though, it plows through opponents using their coverage moves before they really have a chance to retaliate.

Besides, Protean Greninja is good for shaking things up when necessary.

Also the fact you have a garchomp by second island is worrying.

(consider using Drampa, Turtonator or even Nagnadel for a dragon type. Ground type you could even use Flygon, which has same typing or Dugtrio-A)

is mawile really necessary when you have magnezone AND mimikyu?

Why not add some ground or rock type or a grass or psychic type?

Cradily would be a great pokemon to add for example.

For my team almost everything just came from the first island, Im in ultra moon so I could never evolve the event dog since I didn't want to change my time but at the very end of the game i decided to cheat and do it cause I wanted him to be evolved for the E4. My Shedinja came from a transferred egg and he came in handy a bunch, but I had to wait until level 40 to get it since I wanted it to have dig. Shedinja stalling is fun especially when catching the tapus

That would have been a good idea. I already had a thunder type in Alolachu who I used simply because I fucking love Alolachu, but that just had Thunderbolt.

Didn't really matter though, Pelipper just burned through everything with 100 accuracy Hurricane + water boosted Z-Moves. Thing was a monster.

Before going into the elite four. I know about the Ice Weakness, but everything but Ninetails is a shitmon in the main game, and the ai barely ever seems to have water types with ice moves even.

I'm right before Olivia's Grand Trial. Nosepass is new on the team and replace an Inkay.
I didn't plan to have 3 water types but they don't overlap that much, so it's fine. Bruxish is a shiny one that I caught in Moon, its colors are nice so I really wanted to use it.
Charjabug/Vikavolt is cool but I'll likely swap it if I find something else I'd like to try, Bisharp I think.

After looking things over, I feel like I could really use a steel type. Looking at the available steel types, Bisharp seems the most appealing, but now I feel I'm kinda oversaturating my team with ghost and dark types. I think this is the first time I've ever struggled to out together a full team.

I think that Oricorio-Pompom would fit well in your team. You're likely near level 40, so you can catch one in Ula'Ula and learn both Revelation Dance and Air Slash fast.
Switching its type whenever you want might also be fun to you.

I gotten both a Mawilite and a Porygon-Z before postgame because I wanted to use both in storymode while I simply have a preference for Dartrix over Decidueye even though the latter's technically better.

Anyway thanks for the suggestion, I'll keep this team in mind.
