What the fuck were they thinking? Did we really need shit like Bisharp evolving at level 52, or Volcorona at 59? What purpose did this serve?

But yeah, most of pokemon have ridiculous evolution levels in best gen. Like Hydreigon, the most higher level of evolution.

They were supposed to account for how late some of the designs started appearing so that you wouldn't get a Pokemon and then have it evolve at the very first level up.

You encounter those Pokemon at a level where they're close to evolving. It's to account for how late they appear.

You're not going to evolve Hydreigon until after the E4. You can't possibly suggest that's intentional.

It was suppose to be around the levels you got them(i.e you get pawnward at 40-43 meaning just 10ish levels) the problem is other games when you find them early

They only had one each in both games, plus a meagre 3 repeatables (version exclusive) with mediocre opponents. They slapped them on as a selling point then delivered nothing.
RS actually delivered on Doubles and those have remained a staple. I wish we got to keep Triples, but neither GameFreak nor the 3DS hardware can handle it.

Not an arguement.
Pokemon like Ponyta, Rhyhorn, Teddiursa, Snorunt, Snover, and even Jangmo-o, which is found in the second last area in the game all evolve earlier. Jangmo-o specifically evolves within 2-4 levels of its capture. They don't have an evolution requirement between 50-59 which in most BW1 playthroughs you won't even see unless you grind heavily.

then in Gens 6 and 7, you can find a lot of the late evolving pokemon early game, which means you're stuck with a shitmon for way longer than you should be.

I remember encountering it for the first time in a restaurant in SUMU and being flabbergasted at just how bad it was.I refuse to believe anyone actually finds this format enjoyable.

I had both Volcarona and Hydreigon before I challenged the E4 last time I played through BW. No regrets.

They could have introduced Jangmo-o earlier but at least it doesn't evolve into the late 50's. But only Pseudos should do that in the first place seeing as they have a BST of 600.
