I thought all of gen 7 had difficulty (as opposed to it being usually non-existant in the mainline games).

I always wind up feeling underlevelled at every E4 and have to grind my team repeatedly against them.

Gen 4 is usually regarded as mediocre barring HGSS. The only place I've seen such rampant love for it is over here, and only for Platinum. It still gets shit on pretty often though.

I've heard my taste is pretty bad senpai. Let's see if I can change your mind.

Gen 1: Unpolished but very fun. Great overall.
Gen 2: Proof that more is not better. Great new mon designs, but mediocre games.
Gen 3: Excellent games. Best designs, best atmosphere. I prefer R/S over Emerald.
Gen 4: Irredeemable tripe. Even Platinum is just "meh."
Gen 5: The peak. Will never be topped in greatness.
Gen 6: Best online, but main campaign is sub-par.
Gen 7: Good, but oozing with wasted potential and by extent disappointing.

5 > 3 > 1 > 6 > 7 > 2 > 4

I could never get through HGSS without getting bored. Tried out Drayano's hack and was surprisingly having fun. But the gyms were really hard and I hate grinding (even skip trainer battles from time to time) so I hacked all my pokemon to have perfect IVs and also gave my umbreon volt tackle cause it's moveset sucked ass.

When I was younger and really stupid, I used to post on /vp/ and make fake stories about shinies to make myself sound cool.

2 is mechanically better in every way, though. Plus better graphics and objectively better sprite design, less glitchy sounds, and better aesthetics also puts it leaps and bounds above gen 1. And I played only gold, whereas I had both Blue & Yellow.

I hate the main series of Pokémon. From HGSS to USUM. The main campaign is a boring baby tier RPG. I mostly play on online simulators now. It took me over a year to finish Moon. I hate the games but love the mons.

Thanks for reminding me why I have multiple backup saves of my BW living dex. That way, if shit goes bad and I have to rebuild my living dex, I can start at #650 instead of #001.

It pisses me off when I see people shit on DPPt but praise HGSS all the time. Both suffer from poor speeds, but HGSS is technically slower because of its really shitty level curves. And yet all of these people praise the technically slower game over the one they always shit on for being slow. Say what you will about DPPt but at least its level curve was fair to the player.

Gen 4 almost killed Pokémon for me. I'll give credit where it's due though: it had the best spin-off games. Explorers of Sky, Shadows of Almia. Even Battle Revolution took up more of my time than the main series games.

Boxing starters is something I never do, I am not that heartless.

Exp share is always on, no matter what game I play. I only have so much time to play.

Only have played UM so far and just reached aether paradise after beating Gladion.
I've been having a lot of fun with this actually. The new pokemon are largely pretty shit and are either hard to find or dont evolve until near post game which is a bummer mid game.
Z-moves are a fun addition to the game. They're nothing exceptional but stuff life z-work up is fun.
The challenge this game is bringing is extremely welcome. Nearly wiping twice on the first island and wiping to Hala was a definite wake up call. Have to pay much more attention to my pokemon's movepools and make sure I run defensive and offensive status moves to check the harder fights. Probably my favourite in terms of in game battles so far.
Its weird considering I chastised gen 5 but I dont mind the plot so much in this one.
It can bring your momentum to a halt but its more light hearted up-front tune with characters like hau and chunni gladion is a lot better than the idiot-fest of bianca and plasmaaaaaaa. Just overall find the interference less grating but its ultimately a pretty subjective reasoning.
If i were to make an early positioning of gen 7 overall
3 > 7 > 4 > 1 > 5 > 6 > 2

Try getting out of your comfort zone and doing things like

If you're not comfortable lifting you can try jogging or swimming if those options are available to you. Also eating a balanced diet will make you feel less groggy and help you think more clearly throughout the day. I suggest taking small steps so you don't feel too overwhelmed.
As a former NEET I began doing these things ~2 years go and although I'm still autistic they've helped me build some much needed confidence and made me feel more energetic.
We all have the ability to improve and change things about ourselves for the better. Don't buy into the belief that you're going to be stuck this way forever just because of a diagnosis.

I used to only use Pokemon with 3 stage evolutions
I considered Pokemon with 2 or less stages as "weaker" and 'incomplete" (with legendaries of course being exceptions) and went out of my way to avoid using them

I hated EXP share in Gen 6 because I was playing like I did in Gen 5 and previously (where I would just fight every trainer), in SM I realized I could use it to my advantage and skip a lot of the exp fodder trainer battles to save.
