I wouldn't have minded sitting through all the arbitrary forced dialogue and cutscenes if it led up to some climactic event involving the ultra beasts and fighting them but no, they're treated as an afterthought and were shoved off to post game quests. Only difference in USUM being that they have linear corridors attached to them
